Chiropractic care for children. Is it safe?

When it comes to chiropractic care for children it is important to understand that the Doctor of Chiropractic does not treat conditions or diseases. The expertise of the chiropractor is in checking the spine for misalignments that impair nervous system functions; therefore affecting the overall body function.

The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association studies have shown that chiropractic for children improves sleep, behaviour and attitude, and improved immune system functions.  Due to activities, small yet substantial, spinal misalignments (subluxations) may occur and if neglected can lead to serious injuries.

The chiropractor adjustment restores nerve system function allowing the body the ability to express a greater state of wellbeing.  The nervous system includes the brain, spinal cord, and all the millions of nerves that serve every inch of your body and control most of its functions.

A chiropractic adjustment for babies and young children are very gentle, using about the pressure you would to use to check in a ripe tomato.  Children adjust very well and by correcting misalignments in childhood allows the spine to develop in proper alignment and the nervous system to function at its optimal potential.  Chiropractic care for children is safe, gentle, and effective!
